Getting around Thailand is easy and often a fun experience in itself. Here is everything you need to know — whether you are travelling independently or with AKN Holidays.
Within Bangkok
| BTS Skytrain / MRT | Fastest way around the city. Connects major malls, hotels, and attractions. Single ride: 17–62 THB |
| Tuk-Tuk | Three-wheeled open taxi — iconic Bangkok experience. Always agree on price before boarding. 100–200 THB for short rides |
| Metered Taxi | Affordable and widely available. Starting fare: 35 THB. Always make sure the meter is running! |
| Grab App | Like Uber — book through the app for transparent pricing. Works in Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai |
| Chao Phraya River Boat | Cheap river taxi connecting major temples along the river — scenic and affordable |
Bangkok to Pattaya
- Private A/C coach: 1.5–2 hours via Highway 7. AKN Holidays uses private coaches for all group transfers
- Public bus: Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai Station), Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok — 108–120 THB, 2–2.5 hours
Bangkok to Phuket or Chiang Mai
- By air: Bangkok (BKK) to Phuket (HKT) — approx. 1 hr 20 min | To Chiang Mai (CNX) — approx. 1 hr 10 min
- Overnight bus: Southern Bus Terminal, Borommaratchachonnani Road, Bangkok — 12–14 hours to Phuket
